I have created my evaluation in Microsoft PowerPoint which illustrates my final music magazine which I have evaluated in greater depth. I have included the transcription within my presentation.

Minor changes

I have made minor changes to my table of contents so make the appearance more interesting. I have used Photoshop to adjust the colour of the images. I converted some of the images to black and white which compliments the name of my front cover. I also decided to change the name of one of the article which is page 85 so that it relates to the image for that article.

First draft

This is the first draft for my table fo contents page. I have referred to my mock up and also took inspiration from my front cover and double page spread.

I have analysed the photographs which I took for my TOC page. I have analysed each image with reference to my double page spread and front cover, as well as the camera angle, colour and quality of the photograph. I have come to a conclusion about which images I will use and which image I have rejected.

I have changed the layout of my front cover so that it correlates with my DPS. This will help me create my TOC. The changes I have made make my magazine look professional. I have made the kickers more formal so that my magazine appeals to a wider audience. I have also make the model gaze in colour so the colours are vibrant and attractthe audience.

Changing the date on my front cover

After creating my double page spread I made to make a minor change to the front cover of my music magazine was the date. I realised that the date of my music magazine and my double page spread had to be the same. This is so my magazine is professional and is followed byt he same issue. It was vital that I noticed this because my double page page is linked to the front cover of my music magazine as it is the featured article. I also replaced the shade of red on the front cover to match my double page spread.

Second DPS

This is the second version of my double page spread. I have created this as the image is very strong and relates to my front cover and the article displayed on the page. I have used the spot healing tool and the gaussian blur to make this image look professional and attractive to the audience. I have kept the elements consistent, however, I have changed the alignment of the pull quote to abide the conventions.

I have created this presentation to show the effects of the changes I have made which were given from my peers. The impact of these changes on my double page spread make the audience more attracted to the article and encourage effective eye-flow.

I have created the first draft of my double page spread with reference to my mock up, photo-shoot plan and the rough plan I created. However, as the size of my double page spread will be A3, I needed to add more text to my article, in order for it to be suitable for the target audience. I have also changed the positioning of the by-line, by rotating it so it went across the side of the image, rather at the bottom. Finally, there was space after I added more to my article, therefore I decided to add an anchor. I copied and pasted the name of my magazine from the front cover and pasted in beneath the article.

Rough plan for my DPS

I have attached a rough plan of my double page spread which I created in Powerpoint. I have included the article and different conventions which I have abided or challenged. By producing this plan, this gave me a clearer idea for what photograph would be appropiate for my double page spread- whether it is landscape/portrait, closeup or median shot etc.

This is a detailed version of my mock up where I have written in detail my planning for my double page spread. This is essential as it is time-efficient and I know what to expect the outcome to look like. At this stage, I can add new ideas, so it is useful for me to produce a detailed mock up, in case I want to add more elements or design.

After producing a rough plan for my double page spread, I was able to think of different ideas for my photography. I found this the hardest task as it is essential to keep the audience engaged and my target audience value images. I have come up with a photo-shoot plan which I will undertake.

I have created a powerpoint on a double page spread from NME. I have analysed this DPS in great detail as this will assist me when I create my own double page spread. I will use this existing DPS to inspire and help me produce my own.
